Valentino

It’s odd how I haven’t realised the perfection of these Valentino pumps. I think I have seen them floating around the Internet but have never paid much attention to them. For some reason over the autumn they have really taken to my fancy. They are multi-occasional, multi-seasonal due to the heel height; patent leather and almost mary-jane style enabling them to be worn bare legged, with tights or trousers.

Also they are ideally simple, their rounded toe and ankle strap, they provide a simplistic elegance.

Scarf

It has been taking me a while to find a suitable scarf. Initially I was aiming for a black scarf as it is so versatile, and was wary of a navy scarf not being the correct tone of navy, (too dark, too light, too blue). But then I thought that black may be too harsh and not as tran-seasonal to take me from winter to spring.  Also price comes into it. I have always been too fearful to spend a large amount of money on a scarf,  somehow it feels like a waste . But this year I have decided to just do it and invest in a high quality scarf. Every year I wish I had done so, so I thought it was about time I pushed myself to purchase. You have to think you will be wearing  the garment everyday for at least 4 months.

I love the navy or black Canada scarf by Acne, however it appears it would be too large for the style I am aiming for.

I then decided to have a browse on A.P.C's site and I spotted this scarf. For some reason I had never thought to check A.P.C. for a scarf, Im glad I did now as it is the perfect size and importantly shade. It is also super super warm and soft .

Sweater

Sweater - A.P.C., Skirt - Cos, Ballerina's - A.P.C. 

So I decided to purchase the A.P.C. sweater with the logo. I created a blog post a couple of weeks ago representing my uncertainty. I am glad I purchased this sweater rather than the plain grey as I feel you can get a grey sweater from anywhere. I am also wearing my new wool skirt from Cos. The wool is so thick and soft making it super warm, the perfect skirt for winter. On the website the skirt is knee length however I was aiming for a mid thigh skirt, this led me to get it taken up to create the A-line shape.

On my mind

I love the look of light brown hair recently, especially when glowing in sunlight. 

I'm contemplating purchasing a beret for my winter hat but I am slightly worried incase I get a few stares.

The Sofia Coppola for Louis Vuitton in the PM  size is at the top of my wish list. Although I have my Chanel's as a classic and large investment this bag is both aesthetically and practically pleasing whilst sustaining the classic design

I am on a mission to find a perfect pair of tailored shorts. Why is it so hard to produce something so basic? 

It is always hard to find a white shirt with a nice neckline. I feel the 'classic white shirt' is far too masculine for

me, pointed collars do not agree with my neckline.  When I came across this image this is the definition of the perfect neckline for a white shirt! 

Defined lashes and browny pink natural lips. 

 I am currently lusting for a Trench coat. When in London I tried the A.P.C trench, it is perfect on a models stature, but overtakes mine. I feel I will never find one due to being petite, so I shall dream.

Floral & Suede

Blouse and Skirt - Isabel Marant Étoile, Ballerina's - A.P.C.

To me this outfit has a sixties-seventies vibe to it, the floral patterned sheer blouse paired with A-line navy leather skirt and black ballet pumps. I feel this outfit has a simplistic feel yet not uninteresting.

I love the impact of the row of ivory buttons down the middle of the blouse, also adding to the laid back feeling.

Pea coat

I think I may be in  LOVE with my new pea coat. It has took literal years to find one that fits so perfectly. They always seem to be too large, too fitted, too long etcetera. I was actually quite concerned if it would fit my petite frame as on the model it looks quite large. So I was surprised that when it arrived it had the same (or nicer if I am being big headed) fit. I also love the perfect navy colour that goes with everything.

Breton

Everything from A.P.C.

I have always wanted the perfect stripy jumper. They never seem to have the correct appearance though, the knit is either too thin almost tee shirt like, too long, too high and small neckline, the stripes are either too navy or too blue. So I decided to give up and erase the idea of the perfect French style sweater from my mind.

I spotted this one on A.P.C.'s website around a month ago and was uncertain as you never know how it will fit you compared to the website, items often purchased online arrive almost unrecognisable to your expectations. I decided to refrain from purchasing due to this reason and other items that were on my priority list. 

If you have been following my instagram you will have noticed my trip to London, and the A.P.C. store. This led to my purchase. I was walking out of the store very pleased with a couple of purchases I had made. And then my sister spotted it. I was like. OH. GOD.NO! I had to try it on secretly thinking to myself please don't fit, please look horrid as I had already slightly splurged...

 It fit, perfectly. Having the perfect relaxed slouch, sitting perfectly around my neck, the neckline not too large not too small, perfect not too chunky, not too thin knit. Decorated with white buttons on the shoulder. So, the card came out and it left with me.

Finally the perfect Breton jumper is mine!!! Thank you dear A.P.C.

Feu De Bois & Musc

I am not usually a fan of masculine scents. When I choose candles they always have a mellow sweetness to them. When I was in the Diptyque store in notting hill (I ran in due to a unexpected downpour) I walked around awakwardly sniffing each candle. I came across Feu De Bois. All of the candles in diptyque are usually white or cream but this one was a purple/grey so stood out to me. It smelt smoky and almost like a bonfire (Feu de Bois is translated to Fire in English). However I unexpectedly found it appealing. It wasn't too overwhelming but still very strong. It had a very distinct autumn cosy feel to it.

Another candle I favoured was Musc. It reminded me of Christmas, the usual orange-clove-ginger however not as abrasively fruity.It was more multi seasonal rather than festive.

If it were to be paired alongside Musc, It would achieve the most perfect autumnal scent. The deep woodynness alongside the slightly mellower woodynness  would be the perfect mix. All I need to do is justify spending £80 on candles.

Chanel No5

My eye has been on chanel no5 for years ever since I was a young teen. Due to the glamorisation and it being the most famous fragrance I instantly felt I had to own it regardless of its actual scent. 

I think the first time I smelt it I was 12 in duty free and thought it was awful, it was far too powdery therefore granny like, at the time my scent was sweet and probably from an bottle of impulse. Every time I visit duty free or a department store I smell it just to attempt to convince myself I actually do like it. But still I didn't for years. 

So last week I visited a department store and thought I WILL LIKE YOU, if Marilyn did I need to. So rather than just having a sniff and wandering off I actually sprayed it on my skin to see how it develops and what notes arise after time. As I have never actually worn it I didn't know what to expect to feel.

It provided me with a warming hug like feeling and wasn't actually granny-ish as I thought. It was actually quite nice, almost honey smelling? Over time it becomes sweeter with still the warmth, it doesn't evaporate and disappear like other fragrances. Does this mean I like it? So I decided to purchase it and try it out. I have only worn it twice and I think I'm coming round to the classic.

the humble sweater

Sweaters - A.P.C.

I'm not usually a one for motifs or logos on my clothing. The only logo I can just about agree with is the double c on my chanel bag. If my items do have any sort of logo it has to be discreet, not in your face. But for some reason i am drawn to this navy sweater by A.P.C. with the logo on the front. I really don't know why, maybe my ever growing crush on A.P.C. designs is taking over. But then I feel compelled to follow my simplistic initiative and purchase the simple grey sweat, but then what is the point in forking out £130, without any person being able to have any recognition of the brand and therefore quality (to the untrained eye that is)? I just don't want to appear a brand whore? 
What do you think?

a bit of suede

Jumper - Cos, Skirt, Isabel Marant Étoile, Ballerina's - A.P.C.
Everyone has to have a bit of suede in their life don't they? Especially in navy in the style of a mini skirt, with rather useful pockets to also add to its perfection. Also the smell of suede is unbeatable.

Coat

Coat - Isabel Marant Étoile, Ballerinas - A.P.C., Bag, Chanel

I think it is always difficult to find the perfect coat, the fabric, thickness of the fabric, the cut, the detailing, length. I would love to have a coat made specially to my measurements and my choice of design. 

I like the look of a mixture of a pea coat and a military coat. 

The thing that I find irritating about coats is their collars. As I am petite I feel they overtake my neck and become the focus of the coat. 

It has taken me around 2 months (maybe more actually) to make a decision wether to actually purchase this one by Isabel Marant. I like the way it is collarless due to my problem and the styling is exactly what I have been looking for. My only worry was the length as it may be too long for me. It is quite long, just above my knee, compared to the lucky model where it was mid knee. But I like it! I think it fits me right and if it was any shorter I would feel slightly too exposed (and maybe chilly) when wearing it in the autumn/winter. 

I was also sceptical about the price but I think the designer quality will last me longer and I can wear it for more autumn/winter seasons to come.
