Khaite Fall 2017

After I had first saw Khaite featured on the impeccably styled fashion and homewear website The Line I was in awe. The look books and pieces embodied the utmost elegance and nonchalance I could ever wish to desire. 

When I first noticed the brand, their clothing was only available to purchase in the US. But hurrah!!! Matches Fashion have recently began stocking their pieces giving us in the UK a chance to buy!! 

Their Fall 2017 collection made me somewhat emotional. To know the impossibility of replacing my wardrobe with each piece raised such qualms. The biscuity oversized crew neck knit and black roll neck jumper are wardrobe essentials. Equally as essential are the washed denim jeans and the straight legged trousers, which would perfectly pair with any of their shirts and knitwear. The oversized coats are everything I have ever dreamed of; the unstructured shoulders and loose fit make for the ultimate comfy throw on for winter (NEED). The pairing of the simple strapped sandals made each look the epitome of relaxed perfection.

Jeans

Jumper - A Momento, Jeans - Topshop, Shoes - Chanel 

Jeans? I can confirm those really are jeans that I am wearing. I can barely remember the last time I wore jeans (it was sometime in 2012). I have never disliked jeans, I have simply struggled to find the right pair. I am always left with the same dilemma - too skinny, too baggy, the rise, the way they sit at the ankle.. the list goes on. So around two years ago after my seemingly never-ending search, I gave up on the idea of owning jeans, deciding the weren't for me. My go-to pieces have since been skirts and culottes.

My patience has finally run out.  My envy has grown too great of those who wear their easy-going denim, so the search was reinstated. My 'goal jeans' are a complex recipe: A combination of slouchy yet skinny with an ankle skimming crop. 

I can't say I have found the 'perfect' pair, but these are close to that; Topshop Baxter jeans. The only reason they aren't reaching the standard of perfect is probably due to myself being a perfectionist. 

Chanel slingbacks

I remember when I purchased my first pair of slingbacks in Autumn 2015. A spontaneous visit to Chanel resulted in a speedy yet certain purchase of the ultimate classic shoe. The same thing has happened again, but this time I chose the heeled version. 

Sometimes the best purchases are made on impulse, when you know it would be impossible to leave without them.

Maryam Nassir Zadeh Autumn Winter 2017

There is no denying that Maryam Nassir Zadeh is one of my go to shoe designers. So it comes as no surprise that her catwalk shows (only having recently changed from lookbooks) are one of my main sources of inspiration. 

The all white look (apart from the tan brown boots) was certainly my favourite from the whole collection. I particularly enjoy an outfit made entirely of whites and ivories. The coat and wide leg combination is something I can most certainly envision myself wearing. 

Closely ranking in second place was the layering of beiges and whites. I have never before thought of layering a blouse over a roll neck jumper but it seems like a logical conclusion to gain a thermal equilibrium. 

I love how swimsuits were incorporated into the collection. Even though the collection was shown for Autumn Winter, who says it isn't possible to hop onto a plane and head for glass clear seas and 10+ degrees climates (I wish)?. The addition of semi sheer blouses made me wish for such location so I wear one as a purposeful cover up. 

And finally, THE SHOES! As a well and truly self proclaimed fan and ambassador of all Maryam Nassir Zadeh's shoes, they were a major looking forward to point. And they certainly did not fail. The suede ankle boots are something I need now. The socks and sandals combination presents and ideal way to wear sandals in the months just before winter fully hits in. I feel like a child waiting for Christmas Day for the collection to be unveiled for sale. (I really could do with a pair of beautiful suede boots in the current pre spring climate).

In addition to such an exquisite collection, handbags have been introduced to the field. Which is great news but also unfortunate for me as it adds to my extensive wish list.

Navy knit

It has been a while since I last invested in something navy. Well I say 'invested', this thick knitted sweater was the ultimate steal - only £18 from H&M. I may have to bulk buy.

Another great investment I have made are these vintage black floaty culottes. I have been searching for the perfect pair that will go with everything and this pair are just that. Their fluid silhouette and elegant drape create a casual yet sophisticated balance.

Winter roll neck

I feel like this roll neck jumper is everything I will ever need for the winter months. A few posts ago I wrote about how much I wanted to own more things pale and now I have this welcome addition. I plan on wearing it with almost everything; from my  A.P.C. denim mini skirt with tights to my Joseph ivory culottes. 

However, I do wish the temperature would rise a few degrees so I can go outdoors without the need of a coat, but still enjoy the thermal rewards of cozy knitwear.

p.s my blog has been quiet for the past few weeks. Unfortunately my beloved Grandfather passed away a few weeks ago, so any spare time I have had has been with my family.
