Céline Classic Camel Box

I have never had such a hard time making a decision on a bag before. My stress levels were ridiculously high it is almost embarrassing. It began with me falling in love with the 'Wood' box bag in the Céline December Campaign ,which led me to visit it in store. I then found out only 5 had been produced for the UK, with only 1 left, adding to my lust.  When I first saw it my heart sank, it was painful. It was beautiful, but just not me. It was darker than I had anticipated, but had a gorgeous multi-tone in various lights of darkest khaki green and blackest of brown, but I wanted a warmer, chocolate brown. 

I was then shown the camel alternative, and felt a great desire over the wood. It just felt 'right'. When I looked at the wood again and it left me wanting to look at the camel again. It had the correct combination of chocolate and caramel to produce a delicious result.

In my head I was repeating "THERE IS ONLY ONE LEFT IN THE ENTIRE COUNTRY YOU NEED THE WOOD!!". But the Camel was so much better, it has a warm, and comforting feeling to it. 

I tried the bags on repeatedly, asking the sales assistants for their opinion, asking my sister. In the end my choice was the Classic Camel. It is strange, I haven't thought about the Camel Box since I fell in love with it years ago, but gave up on the impossibility of owning it, that it faded from my mind. When viewing it I fell wholly in love again, even more so: the buttery soft leather, the glossy gold clasp and hardware, the ultimate functionality and versatility. 

I cannot wait to wear my new baby. 

Nehera sand trousers

Im seriously having a thing for trousers at the moment, especially those that are wide legged. The sand colour of this pair are the perfect neutral. They would look great with my brown mock neck jumper and my Chanel slingbacks (or the navy Maryam Nassir Zadeh Roberta’s I am craving). I would also wear them in the spring transition, I could imagine them with my copper suede MNZ sandals.

Cos Horizon

These images from Cos Magazine Horizon are so dreamy. The neutral hues with comfortable materials tick all the right boxes. 

Wide trousers

Trousers and me are not two words that are usually accompanied within a sentence. I have forever been fond of the wide legged trousers that exuberate comfort and elegance. The fact the majority of trousers are the length of my shoulders to my feet put me off.

Recently wide legged trousers cropped at the ankle have been imposing my brain. The idea of being cropped appealed to me as then they would fit me as long trousers are supposed to!

I finally found the perfect pair by Theory. They are are perfectly wide, sit at the right part of the ankle. The crease down the middle of them creates the perfect drape upon the leg. Most importantly they are superbly comfortable and great quality. They are made from jersey flannel which gives them thermal properties, while still retaining a relaxed structure. Their neutral colour of olive-brown making them easily versatile. 

I can see them becoming my favourite piece in my wardrobe. 

Autumn mind

There is too much to detail - I would but I would write too much. In basic terms: turtle necks, thick jewellery, neutral colours (grey, tan, cream, navy and a hint of pale blush), my dream furniture. This is what this autumn is in my mind.

Pre Autumn chocolate turtle neck

Vintage Mock neck jumper - The mercantile, Shorts - A.P.C., Sandals - Maryam Nassir Zadeh
This outfit photo was taken a few of weeks ago (I totally forgot to post) and is the ultimate pre autumn winter outfit. Normally I never take into account how my outfit is suited for pre seasons, I normally focus on the 'whole season'. The combination of this vintage turtle neck from the mercantile  with my wool shorts creates a good medium of body temperature, enabling me to cope with bare legs. Topping (or shall I say bottoming) it all off is the Maryam Nassir Zadeh elephant suedes. I wish this state of pre season could last a bit longer, I am enjoying the ability to wear these suede beauties and dread the day I have to store them for next spring summer. 

I need to share my admiration for the vintage mock neck, ultimately the turtle neck being my favourite component to the garment, there is something so flattering and interesting of the appearance of a almost totally concealed neck. The chocolate colour is something new to my wardrobe, brown not being my initial colour choice. However, I find it does suit my skin tone very nicely, so it is has made a place in my conciousness of future buys! 

Chanel slingbacks

I never usually make a purchase without months/weeks of planning, but for these Chanel slingbacks I made an exception. My sister and I have recently moved to London for studying (fashion journalism) and decided to browse Chanel as it was their first day launching of the famous brasserie themed Autumn / Winter collection. 

Viewing the external window display with the beautiful array of furnishings (the deep brown wooden chair is something I am in love with) i immediately looked for the iconic slingback that were originally launched by Mademoiselle Coco Chanel in 1957.  

Although I would love to own the original dual tone, I stated to my sister "I wish they were available in black" then hurried into the store to get a closer view of the shoe. 

We then looked around and on the shelf they were there, next to the luscious cream leather and material toe cap; the plain black leather slingback, embracing a miniature double gold c on the small heel. I had a feeling of dread, that I knew I had to purchase them - that day. Asking the sales woman if they had many in stock her answer being no and that they only have one size of each pair and are likely to sell out by the end of the day.  A rush of euphoria and fear oozed over my body, and they left the store with me.

A.P.C. Fall collection wish list

As usual a greatly neutral (or to be brutal - dull) colour compilation of items I would love to own for the upcoming autumn. The less colour is obviously always better as the cut and fit is the focus, well this is to my personal taste. 

I really do love the grey pleated dress, I am envisioning myself wearing it pre chill with either of my MNZ sandals, and then when the nip arrives with tights and some form of ballerina (if MNZ decide to produce black suede Roberta’s this could be a option).

 The ribbed cardigan could be an warming addition, I have been craving a cardigan featuring a ribbed knit that didn’t form the appearance of being a bloated piece of knit wear, but hangs just the right way, it seems this piece may fulfil this. It is available in both navy and a creamy camel which may add an introduction of ‘colour’ to my wardrobe. Plus the material of cashmere being included  adds to the desire. 

The tweed coat is something i have been needing for what feels forever. Around three years ago I purchased a tweed coat by Isabel Marant, it provided the most idyllic winter tweed but was around 5 times too large for me. The availability of such a material in the format of the similar shape of my dolly coat is a match made in heaven. The only down side is the length, however this can easily be solved. 

The wool skirt featuring an inverted pleat is a piece I can envision myself often wearing. The cut is largely appealing to me and suits my love of the a-line shape within a skirt. It would be an easy basic item to own. 

A pair of navy wool shots are a necessity to this list. I constantly wear my current pair, so another would be greatly received. They feature three decorative buttons placed upon one side, reminding me of the much admired image from Margaret Howell’s 1992 campaign. Upon my realisation of the date my hopes of owning the them were inevitably and devastatingly demolished (they are the most perfect fitting shorts I have seen). 

Vases

I am currently on the lookout for a vase, I am moving to London in September so I am considering how to make myself feel at home within the student accommodation. 

My ideal purchase would be something rather expensive and luxurious, however as stated I am a student so I cannot spend an amount worthy of high quality jewellery on a item meant to simply hold flowers. 

I have some pointers that I want the vase to withhold: tall enough to enable a long stem, either wooden or ceramic in natural colours: dark wood or beiges, natural greens, soft grey for ceramic, matte or lacquered. No lip or medium sized lip over the edge for the stem to lean on and the petals/fluffy flower heads to overhang. 

The type of flower I am considering to fit the vase is to be long stemmed with small flowers. Gypsophila ( also known as baby breath) is an ideal accompaniment. Or something sparser made up of a few stems with slimline petals and leaves.

Maryam Nassir Zadeh Elephant suede Palma sandals

As usual once a purchase is made from a select brand or designer, confirming their quality and suitability I form an obsession with them. This claim I make is linked to the designer Maryam Nassir Zadeh.

After my initial purchase of sandals (sophie in copper suede) provided luxurious comfort and style, followed by my second purchase of the knitted two piece sustaining this status, I knew another purchase had to be made, secure I am not going to be let down. 

This has led to my purchase of the Palma sandals in elephant suede (the colour not the actual material!). The colour is almost indescribable, in certain lighting the grey tones vary being darker and lighter. The colour combined with the suede is physical indulgence. 

Now all I need is for their winter collection to be released to collate more knits and suede. 

Maryam Nassir Zadeh Canaria Cinnamon twin set

A two piece is a concept I have been eager to fulfil. The display of wearing matching items creates an image of ultimate organisation.

This knitted duo is the ideal twin set. The colour mix of the knit creating a warm cinnamon is aesthetically delicious. The hue combined with a tan is beautifully enhancing which greatly matches my skin tone. The idea of a vest and cardigan enable the pieces to be worn within the winter and spring, as well as the current summer season. 

The fabric is lightweight, enabling the hang to be easily elegant, as rarely knitted items provide such a feeling of fluid movability. 

Sophie Buhai jewellery

 The jewellery created by Sophie Buhai has a feeling of an architectural form to it, the use of bold metal/silver form the link of the materials used within structures. The idea of interior and architecture is imminently visible within the imagery used on her website. The pieces are paired with interior design items that are styled to aesthetic perfection. 

The images are an exact portrayal of my minds ideal; beautiful design, creation and aesthetics.

The mini egg pendant is my main focus, just the right size of small, but the right amount of noticeable. I would wear it as both a necklace and bracelet by wrapping the chain multiple times around my wrist.

The Mercantile vintage clothing

I have discovered the website The Mercantile online store which have beautiful vintage clothing, all with impeccable styling. I have literally raided their site and compiled my favourite looks, which I would love to wear. Additonally, a look onto their instagram page has flooded my mind with inspiration.
