Margaret Howell Autumn/Winter 2015

The love I have for this collection has come as a surprise, although I do love the masterful creations Margaret Howell never fails to produce, some of them are often too masculine and utilitarian for myself. This collection has featured much more subdued shapes than in the previous Autumn/Winter collection. 

The colour palette is perfect featuring my favourite colours for autumn/winter of khaki, autumnal rust oranges, and of course black, grey and white/cream. I thoroughly loved the roll necks, which had a perfect relaxed slouch to them, also I am rather intrigued by the sleeveless alternative (I can imagine them with tanned arms from the summer).

Spring Wishlist

My current wish list isn’t that large, and is built up of my usual monotonous colours. The odd exception for me is the addition of rust orange/red, however still a muted colour. I can just imagine it paired with ultra tanned legs with the colours enhancing each other (ahh summer hurry up to gain this tan). 

I have included the A.P.C. sailor sweater from AW14 in my wish list as I feel it is a transitional piece, as well as the La Garçonne Moderne navy turtleneck, both can be worn when coats are no longer required.

The A.P.C. Étroit court jeans have made it onto my wish list as I have not wore jeans for nearly over 2 years I finally feel a need to try and reintroduce them to my life. (I have actually purchased them but are too large around my legs so I am hoping to get them altered). I also am looking into pleated skirts, and the black A.P.C. and navy buttoned Miu Miu skirt are greatly on my mind.  Lastly the tan midi wedge sandals < 3! I feel this is one of my priority purchases that I NEED for spring/summer. I purchased the suede black versions last year and they were perfect, so I am certain a alternative shade will be appreciated as part of my shoe wardrobe this year. 

A.P.C. cable knit

I originally eyed up the cream version of this jumper when it was released in the beginning of autumn. The information of wool and cashmere mix to create the piece was wonderful news, but unfortunately I couldn't afford such luxury due to recent expenditure. I slowly let the jumper ease from my mind. Until the information of the A.P.C. sale. Scrolling through the website I spotted the black cable knit jumper, eradicating the prior choice I had made of its cream sibling. To my delight the price was greatly reduced. Initially I was against the purchase as I already own a black cable knit roll neck jumper by Margaret Howell for the season. However after mulling I realised it is totally (ha) different; no roll neck - perfect justification to purchase as it will take me through the last of the winter into spring!
