Maryam Nassir Zadeh Patent Black Palma Sandals

I purchased my first pair of Palma sandals by Maryam Nassir Zadeh 3 years ago in 'elephant' suede and have worn them on repeat every time the temperature rises to feet baring levels. They have been my go to sandals that are as equally as comfortable as they are beautiful. So this summer I thought it was time to welcome a new pair to my wardrobe, this time in patent black. 

A.P.C. Moon bag

My A.P.C. moon bag has been the bag of my dreams since I bought it four years ago – how time flies! I have worn it to death, and it is certainly paying for it. By around the second or third month of owning it, I gave up on protecting it. Since then I have worn it like an extension of me. It gets bumped and knocked and is covered in so many scratches there are too many to count. 

I have always wanted a ‘new’ fresh bag, but didn’t really see the point, as I knew it would sit in the cupboard whilst I preferred to pick up the bag I know cannot be damaged any further (that is if it doesn’t fall apart). 

But, this year I decided to buy a new one. It was actually really hard to do, as I am not gaining anything that is necessarily different, and it is almost like saying goodbye to the original. 

However, this March, I started to feel like it was time, as I didn’t want to damage it any more than it already is. It has now been two months since I bought the new bag – this time in black rather than navy – and I have worn it five times. It is funny, I still wear the other more. I really should try to let go, but I hate the fear of damaging something that is at the moment so perfect. 

Spring wishlist

A sort of spring wish list. Lets say, how I envision to look this spring. Some things I own, some things I don’t, and some things that no longer exist:

1. Ribbed black jumper. I recently purchased a jumper very similar to this one featured, second-hand by Isabel Marant. it is very similar to this jumper, but in black. 
2. Grey jumper. Similar to before, I recently purchased this grey ribbed jumper by Rouje, and although it is somewhat different from the featured (now nearly vintage) grey one by Miu Miu, grey jumpers are something I always wish for for spring. 
3. Ivory jumper. I actually do own this jumper by Margaret Howell, I purchased it in 2013 and still love to wear it. However, I would love to buy it brand new again. 
4. Check skirt. High up on my wishlist is a check skirt, this one by DSQUARED2 was added to my polvore saves several years ago and I have never found one quite like it. Reformation currently sell a lovely checked skirt, but shipping costs to the UK are putting me off making the purchase. 
5. Denim skirt. Denim skirts for me are the ultimate wardrobe basic. Ever since I purchased my classic denim skirt by A.P.C. in 2013 I have never found dressing so easy. However, that was a bit of a while ago and I have felt my self becoming slightly (only very slightly!) bored of wearing the same style over again. I recently purchased this zip up denim skirt by Isabel Marant, not as replacement (nothing could ever replace my A.P.C. denim mini love) but as an alternative. I am currently wearing it with tights, but when it gets warmer I plan on wearing it with bare legs. 
6. Velvet flat Chanel slingbacks. I already own the the original leather slingback with the grosgrain toe, as well as their secondary style with the patent toe, but I would love the velvet alternative too. I know that is probably excessive, but they have got to be the most versatile shoes I own. I deeply regret not purchasing the velvet style, but unfortunately I hadn’t realised the style until too late.  
7. Isabel Marant Daevel boot. I recently purchased these boots, and I can see them quickly becoming a multi-seasonal shoe (except from summer of course). I am currently wearing them with tights or trousers, but when it gets warmer I will wear them bare legged. 
8. A.P.C. x Porselli ballerinas. These shoes were my favourites when I owned them years ago, and have repeatedly had a place on my wishlist, and they will stay until I own them again.
9. Céline box bag. I often feel incredibly privileged to own this bag, and I do not wear it as enough as I should because of this. It is so precious to me as it is so fragile, as I have previously explained, so I feel like it is placed within both a wish list and an already-owning list. I think I need to force myself to be brave and just wear it. 
10. A.P.C. moon bag. This bag is definitely on both my wish list and already-owning list. I purchased my current bag in 2014 and it is safe to say that I have worn it - and it is certainly not scratch free. I am seriously considering this year to be the year I buy my old gem a baby sister. 

Isabel Marant Daevel Boot

Daevel boot by Isabel Marant 

For me, black boots have always been the hardest thing to buy. I have always wanted the perfect pair that are simple but elegant, but I never really seem to manage to find the right style. It was just by chance that the other day I decided to pop into the Isabel Marant boutique in Bruton Street for some afternoon inspiration. I had spent all day at uni and felt I needed a bit of an uplift, plus it felt like forever since I had last visited the store, and was ready for a Marant refuel. 

Part of me regrets such visit, yet part of me really does not. Those who have been following me for a while now will know of my love for patent leather and suede shoes. So, when I came across these - a pair of simple black suede boots with a simple patent black heel -  I knew I needed them.

 I rarely if ever make impulsive purchases, and try to refrain from them as much as possible, and always try to plan them in advance. So, I was heartbreakingly sensible and left without them - and put them on hold. As they were from the autumn winter 2017 collection, the hold time was limited to only a couple of days (they were getting sent back to Paris and were the last pair) so I decided to make an exception to my ways and purchase them a couple of days later. 

The last time I had made such an impulsive decision was in 2015 when I purchased the flat Chanel slingbacks Although this time, not as impulsive (the slingback purchase was a matter of minutes rather than days) I feel confident with my purchase and imagine the boots to last me (hopefully) for a few years. 

Suqqu eyeshadow

Although I aim to keep my makeup minimal, over recent months I have found myself wanting to try out eyeshadow. Not anything major, just a nice light sweeping of something extra to my day to day look. It was timely then, that upon a recent visit to Selfridges I stumbled upon this eyeshadow palette by Suqqo (note: it is limited edition for spring summer 2018). I was instantly drawn to the pale silver which I could imagine wearing daily; nothing to heavy, but as a simple barely there sparkle on my lids. I was also drawn to the pale baby blue colour, which is perfectly understated but helps brighten and open the eye that little bit more. 

The palette also comes with two other colours (which is a supplementary bonus for me) of a darker taupe silver and a matte grey/green which is perfect for a heavier night-time look. Also I must say, the packaging is exceptionally lovely; a pale gold and shiny black casing with a large mirror that slips perfectly into my bag.  

I can't say that I am a total eyeshadow convert, but I can see myself exploring with it some more.

Chanel Ballerinas

After owning my Chanel ballerina flats for 6 years, I thought it would be the right time to renew them. I have been in need of a new pair of basic ballerinas for a while now, but as Porselli no longer produce their patent leather ballerinas (I lie, they do but there is a 26 week waiting list), a new Chanel pair had to be my only trustworthy option. 

Although I owned my previous pair for so long, a lot of the wearing occurred in the initial 2 years of owning them and intermittently throughout the rest. But for some reason, in the recent summer, I found myself wearing them more than ever, which has unfortunately led to their demise. That is the thing with shoes, every wear is damaging.

 In hindsight, I probably should have taken more care with them, as I do with my new shoes now, but at the time I never thought of storing them properly after each wear (I now always store my shoes in their dust-bags so that the leather does not dry out). 

Although I do hope Porselli restock their patent ballerinas, I am excited by my indulgent purchase. I just hope that they last another 6 years! 

Winter rain

Coat and bag - A.P.C., Shoes - Valentino, Beret - Topshop

With every season brings me a uniform. For this season my outerwear uniform consists of tights (80 denier to ensure utmost warmth), patent leather shoes (just incase of some rain, which proved somewhat handy in the wet weather as shown), a knee length coat and my newfound favourite of a beret. 

Rain in London can sometimes be heavy, and although my beret did keep my hair dry for a few minutes, it is safe to say a few moments after these photos were taken I was no longer in the wet weather. My luck with umbrella's is pretty poor, for some reason mine always seem to turn inside out, so luckily my trusty old favourites of my A.PC. dolly coat and Valentino Tango pumps managed to keep me moderately dry for the brief time I was outside.
