Khaite Virginia Jumper

Friday, 1 March 2019

I haven’t actively sought after a purchase of any kind recently. I can’t surely pinpoint why, maybe I feel contented with what I own, or maybe feel exhausted by the search for something that does not exist. But somehow, I came across the Virginia jumper by Khaite. Khaite is a brand I have fawned over for a while now – I love its simplicity and abundance of quality that can even be seen through screen without having touched a garment, but unfortunately for me, this luxury is way out of my price zone.

So, when I visited the Khaite website – out of pure inquisitiveness and an unavoidable sense of desire I was faced with the most beautifully simple jumper I had seen in years. A basic crew neck, charcoal cashmere jumper with large and lengthy sleeves – perfect for a discreet bracelet and or watch to peep out when the arm is moved – with a simple slit down the back. I knew it must be mine. Immediately.

But I was faced with a saddening dilemma that would be so trivial and none existing if I was not located outside the US. The price point was fine - in the sale - half price. But the element of import tax faced me and me being me couldn’t justify paying a decent sum of money for the pleasure of receiving a garment that may not actually fit. But hurrah, google exists! And to my avail – a very surprising one – it was available in the UK, thank you Matches Fashion (how I had not already spotted it prior really irks me, but if you don’t look you aren’t to find!) and it became mine.
