35mm camera

Tuesday, 9 June 2015

Testing of photo's using a disposable camera. I found they were greatly unreliable, only 16 photos coming back from two cameras of 30 shots. I find the photo's come back with a good appearance, creating a nostalgia of my childhood. I have barely any experience of traditional photography, being in the digital era, my knowledge consists of various lenses for my DSLR and my way of focusing. The only knowledge is consistent of my childhood holiday memories of my parents taking photo's using their film camera's.
I am considering purchasing a 'real' camera with a 35mm lense as well as a additional lense for my DSLR. I am excited to experiment with them, to find the perfect result (if possible). I simply aim for my sight to be reproduced, the view when I focus so closely or not closely to the subject, creating my personal depth of field.

  1. This may come by as an odd question, but where are these pictures taken? The nature ones look strangely familiar, are they by any chance shoot in Howth (Dublin)?

    1. The photos by the sea are in Hartlepool (North of the UK) and the others are in London.

  2. Definitely worth it, I really miss my days working with film (i started out studying film photog at uni). It's true that you will encounter endless failures - digital has really spoiled us and increased our expectations! But that isn't such a bad thing, either, it is nice to have access to both, i think...
These are beautiful images Lauren, would love to see more on your blog, they fit the feel of your posts so well:)
